# Kaptiono

> Kaptiono is a privacy-first AI subtitle generator and caption editor for creators. It supports Local Whisper transcription in the browser and an optional Cloud High Accuracy mode.

Current stable release: v1.0.0.

The original video stays on the user's device. Local Whisper models process audio on-device. When Cloud High Accuracy is explicitly selected, only the extracted audio required for transcription is sent through the Kaptiono Cloud transcription service. Caption editing and video export remain local.
